In an industry as dynamic as energy infrastructure, the need for continuous innovation, rigorous safety protocols, and sustainable practices cannot be overstated. StocExpo, the leading event dedicated to the tank storage and future fuels industry for 20 years, remains at the forefront of addressing these critical challenges. 

Central to this mission is the formation of our Advisory Board, a diverse group of experts whose insights and guidance are instrumental in shaping StocExpo. By bringing relevant and topical issues to the forefront, the Advisory Board ensures that StocExpo remains a beacon for industry professionals worldwide, fostering discussions that drive terminal safety, operational efficiency, cutting-edge innovation, and sustainability. 

As the energy infrastructure landscape evolves, the contributions of the StocExpo Advisory Board will be more vital than ever in preparing the industry to meet both current demands and future opportunities.

Advisory Board spotlight: Jonathan Feys

Jonathan Feys is a seasoned veteran in the tank storage industry, boasting an impressive track record of over 15 years in commercial roles across the European landscape for companies like LBC, VTTI and Vopak. With a strong educational foundation in engineering complemented by an MBA, Jonathan’s career has been defined by his unwavering commitment to driving growth, optimization, and nurturing young commercial talents within the sector.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has successfully navigated the complexities of sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and business development within the tank storage field. His strategic vision and industry expertise have enabled him to develop and expand tank storage footprints, ensuring operational excellence and sustainable growth for the organizations he has been a part of.

One of Jonathan’s key passions lies in nurturing young commercial talents. He firmly believes in the importance of mentorship and actively fosters the development of emerging professionals in the tank storage industry.

Jonathan’s unwavering commitment to excellence, combined with his extensive experience and dedication to mentorship, makes him a driving force in the European tank storage arena, challenging continuously the standards for success in this dynamic and vital industry.

Advisory Board spotlight: Jordi Anglès

Jordi Anglès Jové was born in Tarragona in 1991. He graduated as Industrial Technical Engineer (specialized in mechanics) in 2012 at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona). He is also Master’s in Supply Chain, Transport and Mobility and Postgraduate in Vehicles and Railway Service Operations at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. 

From 2014 he worked in several export and logistics international companies located in the Greater Barcelona Area. In 2018, he joined Port Tarragona, where he developed functions as a Port Services and Operations Technician. In June 2019, he was appointed to Commercial Coordinator, where he is managing the projects of bulk liquid traffic. 

Advisory Board spotlight: Leakhena Swett

With nearly five years of dedicated service to ILTA, Ms. Swett has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities. Her promotion to President acknowledges her outstanding contributions and positions her as a key driver of ILTA’s strategic direction.

As President, Ms. Swett will shape ILTA’s vision, advocate for the industry, and spearhead initiatives to advance the liquid terminals sector. Her extensive knowledge of the organization, stakeholders, and membership needs will be critical to ILTA’s success in promoting safe and efficient operations, fostering innovation, and addressing industry challenges.

Ms. Swett’s expertise in operations, governance, and membership has been instrumental in driving ILTA’s growth and expanding its network of industry professionals. Her ability to craft effective marketing strategies, engage members, and build partnerships will be invaluable as she collaborates with the ILTA team and industry stakeholders.

Ms. Swett expressed her enthusiasm, stating her eagerness to maintain ILTA’s collaborative spirit, foster innovation, strengthen partnerships, and advocate for the industry to enhance ILTA’s value and drive it forward.

Advisory Board spotlight: Stefan Kukula

Stefan studied Engineering at Cambridge University. Following graduation he spent a year working in the nuclear industry. He took Masters and Doctorate degrees in composite materials at Imperial College, London before spending seven years working in Japan for Kobe Steel Ltd. In the UK he has worked for materials companies ranging from multi-nationals to start-ups, as well as leading the development of gas detection equipment for industrial safety applications.

He is now Chief Executive of the Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association, EEMUA, an industry body for owners and operators of fixed engineering assets – expensive capital plant with high degrees of hazard to people and the environment. EEMUA is especially known for its guidance and training in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of storage tanks, developed by industry, for industry.
