StocExpo: A Deep Dive into the 2024 Conference

The countdown is on with only two weeks until StocExpo returns to Rotterdam for what is set to be the best conference to date.

StocExpo, the most anticipated event of the year, is back with a bang as the industry’s most thought-provoking professionals prepare to take centre stage at the 2024 conference.

Throughout the two-day show, delegates will gain high-level insight into a wide variety of topics at StocExpo’s FETSA conference and Terminal Operations & Safety conference.

One of the most anticipated talks of day one will be led by Tamme Mekkes, Business Development Director at Koole Terminals, where he will discuss the logistics of carbon capture and storage from Koole Terminals’ unique perspective following the organisation’s investigation into large-scale CO2 storage infrastructure in Germany, the Netherlands, and in Norway.

Other highlights include a session discussing the Energy Trilemma: digitalisation, security of supply, and inflation, from Marek Sutra, SNE, European Commission, and a talk on European Tank Storage and Changing Geopolitical Landscapes from Lucia van Geuns, Strategic Energy Advisor at Hague Centre for Strategic Studies.

Martin Reuvers, Senior Engineer at Vopak, will be one of the highlights of day 2 as he provides a full explanation of the revisions to PGS-12, shaping how the world stores ammonia. The session will spell out the reasons for the revisions and clarify the impact the new standard will have on ammonia storage internationally. In the second half of the session, Martin will be joined by other PGS workgroup members to answer audience questions.

Towards the end of the day Jannes Elfgen, Head of Port Energy Solutions at the Hamburg Port Authority, will take to the floor alongside a panel of experts to discuss energy transition from a worldwide perspective. Jannes will provide insight into how the Port of

Hamburg is tackling the energy transition, speaking specifically on the learnings and challenges found from the process so far.

Margaret Dunn, Portfolio Director at StocExpo, says, “We can’t wait to welcome the tank storage and energy infrastructure community back to StocExpo in just a matter of weeks. This year’s lineup is truly unmatched, with the biggest names in the industry attending to share their knowledge and expertise with the industry. If you haven’t registered to attend, you’re not too late, there is still time to join us. Don’t miss out on what is set to be the best StocExpo to date.”
