EPSC was founded after the Bhopal incident, to make the industries using hazardous chemicals a safer place. This plat form offers the industry the opportunity to work together on the topic, that means networking and developing best practies to avoid Loss of Containment.
Learning effectively from incidents is essential is the recent past shows that even serious incidents can be repeated. The lecture will discuss these cases and proposes a method to raise awareness and improve relevant knowledge to avoid incidents with hazardous chemicals.
Tijs Koerts studied chemistry at the Utrecht University and obtained a PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology. He got his process safety experience at DuPont, GE plastic and Lyondell Basell Industries, where he worked with all kinds of hazardous processes in both technical, operational and business roles. He is a passionate coach, trainer and speaker. Since 2017 he is also Operations Director for the European Process Safety Centre.
