China refinery blast kills five

More than 30 people have been injured in a refinery fire and explosion, in Panjin, Liaoning province, China on January 15.
According to Sky News (embed link), at least five people have died and a further eight are missing. The blast, which occurred at 13:30 local time, involved workers who were carrying out maintenance work on the site at the time.
Videos have captured the moments when plumes of dark smoke were witnessed rising to the sky above Panshan county.
The oil refinery and petrochemical processing complex has been shut down, pending a detailed investigation.
